It has been over 150 years since our founder, Mr. Pedro Prim, created the first orthopaedic workshop and began operations at Balneario de Alsasua, in Navarra. Since then, the company has grown and gained experience, always staying aligned to its vision: to improve people’s lives.

Pedro Prim Fernández opens his first orthopaedic workshop and along with the Balneario de Alsasua, in Navarra.
1880
It registers its first patent, a “device to serve human limbs”.
1884
The registration of the patent for the “Prim system for defective feet” means it becomes an industry leader.
1917
Francisco Prim moves the headquarters to Madrid, to Calle Preciados 33.
1942
Pedro Prim opens the clinic at Calle Conde Peñalver in Madrid and creates Establecimientos Ortopédicos PRIM, S.A.
1963
Hospital supplies are incorporated into its business, specialising in cutting-edge technological products in Spain.
1973
Its orthopaedic products factory is built in Móstoles, Madrid.
1980
It became internationally active through its export network.
1985
PRIM begins trading on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
1990
It consolidates its activity related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation and creates Enraf Nonius Ibérica, S.A.
2000
It opens its offices in Lisbon, Portugal.
2002
It establishes its headquarters next to its factory in Móstoles, Madrid.
2010
It ventures into the pharmaceutical sector through the acquisition of Luga Suministros Médicos S.L.
2016
It launches its spa and wellness centre business in Mexico, with the incorporation of Prim Salud y Bienestar.
2016
It acquires the parapharmacy, orthopaedics and podiatry range of Laboratorios Milo.
2018
PRIM Farma’s geographical presence and product portfolio are expanded through the acquisition of ANOTA, S.A.
2019
It pioneers the use of (stitch-free) bonding technology within the orthopaedic field.
2020
The company’s Succession Plan is consolidated.
2022
PRIM strengthens its national and international growth with the acquisitions of Herbitas, Teyder, Easytech and the stake in Aura Robotics.
2023
PRIM has more than 900 internal employees, 5 factories, 3 specialised workshops, more than 31 orthopaedic shops and has added 2 new international markets with Japan and China.

Today, PRIM is a listed company which, through the daily efforts of its 900 staff, has a diversified business portfolio that endorses it as a leader within orthopaedics sector and establishes its position as a strategic supplier within the hospital, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, pharmacy and podiatry sectors. Its export network has also hallmarked its international standing, now reaching over 93 countries.

Known in the market for the cutting-edge nature of its products, the company is committed to the constant search for new solutions, either through its own innovation or with the help of its strategic partners. The organisation registered its first patent in 1880 and since then has been a historic pioneer in the introduction of emerging technologies into the domestic market.
