PRIM’s Board of Directors approves its succession plan at the top of the company

At its meeting today, the Board of Directors of Prim, S.A. approved a succession plan to renew the Company’s leadership. This agreement is the culmination of the Action Plan approved by the Board in its meeting on 30 January 2019, which included the advance of the succession process of the company’s chief executive. This position is currently held by Mr. Andrés Estaire, who following 30 years at the helm and with the support of his team, has established the company as a leader within the sector.

In line with the agreements, Mr. Andrés Estaire has made his position available to the Board and has expressed his willingness to collaborate with any required matters following his departure, which will happen after the current state of alarm in which we find ourselves. Mr. Andrés Estaire will remain in place until then as the head of executive duties.

Following this period, the directors of La Fuente Salada, S.L., represented by Mrs. Lucía Comenge Valencia and Mr. Jorge Prim Martinez, respectively, will assume the positions as non-executive chair and first vice-chair of the Company’s senior management. Furthermore, following their election, the new chief executive, will then also assume their role and executive duties with the support of the Management Committee.

With this decision, the Board of Directors sets in motion a significant change in Corporate and Generational Governance with the aim of beginning a new phase of growth to place the Company at the forefront of best practices and to consolidate the progress made by former managers.

Lucía Comenge is a member of the Prim Board of Directors in representation of the company’s majority shareholder and proprietary director La Fuente Salada S.L. She holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Universitá Cattolica Sacro Cuore, Milan. She has built her professional career in London and Madrid, being part of the management teams of the British multinational Rexam PLC and the American company Ball Corporation, companies which she has also represented in different European leadership associations.

For his part, Jorge Prim is a member of the founding family and is also a member of the Board as a proprietary director. He holds a degree in General Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. His professional career included roles at various partner health companies until he joined Prim in 2008. Since then, his time spent in the different departments of the company has allowed him to develop a global vision and gain in-depth knowledge of the business, which is essential for this new phase.

Both individuals guarantee their strong commitment to all the shareholders and professionals who make up the workforce to strengthen Prim’s positioning and consolidate its profitability and presence in the markets.
