PRIM announces that it is joining the United Nations Global Compact

  • We joined the UN Global Compact, as part of our 2023 ESG Master Plan to incorporate the universal framework of the Ten Principles and SDGs into our organisation’s strategy.

Launched in the year 2000, the United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. There are currently more than 21,000 member entities in more than 160 countries, and it has 70 local networks.

In Spain, more than 1,000 organisations have joined the initiative, making it one of the five local networks with the largest number of signed up entities and, therefore, one the most significant on an international level.

The initiative in Spain stands out for the number of members, the number of Progress Reports or sustainability reports presented, the overall performances and the solutions provided for its member companies.

Adhering to the UN Global Compact means aligning our strategic operations with universally accepted #TenPrinciples in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. We are also formally committed to contributing to the achievement of the #SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) through our ESG Master Plan 2023-2025, approved by the Board of Directors.

Due to the sector in which it operates, PRIM contributes more to the achievement of those SDGs related to the Health and Wellbeing of society, which are integrated into the company’s mission and vision. Likewise, its collaboration agreements signed with universities, research centres and public institutions for the progress and development of health, as well as agreements with non-profit organisations, promote the achievement of the SDG 17, which aims to create alliances to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

PRIM’s way of carrying out its activity also means it contributes to equal opportunities (SDG 3), access to decent employment and economic growth in its area (SDG 8) and also promotes responsible production and consumption. Finally, its environmental management includes annual actions to protect the climate (SDG 13) and to help fight climate change.

In the words of our CEO Fernando Oliveros:

“PRIM joining the @globalcompact is an important step forward for the organisation and its employees as part of our commitment to integrate sustainability into our corporate strategy”
