  • The company, with more than 150 years of history, has been based in the Madrid town for 50 years, where it has its headquarters and one of its factories.
  • PRIM is one of the first companies to participate in the Móstoles Impact Entrepreneurship Booster project, promoted by the City Council.

The Mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, today visited PRIM’s facilities in the Madrid town, and met with Jorge Prim and Fernando Oliveros, vice-president and CEO, respectively, of PRIM. At the meeting, which was also attended by the Móstoles councillor for Economy, Industry and Employment, Ángeles García, the impact of PRIM as an innovative company that generates employment in the municipality was discussed, as well as its participation in the MIEB (Móstoles Impact Entrepreneurship Booster) project, promoted by the City Council.

After the meeting, the mayor and his delegation toured PRIM’s headquarters and warehouse in the town. PRIM, an innovative company in the healthcare technology sector, with more than 150 years of history, has been linked to Móstoles for half a century, and maintains a significant level of activity in terms of employment. Of the Group’s nearly 1,000 employees in Spain, 430 work in this town in Madrid, 115 of whom live and work in the company.

During the visit, during which the Mayor was able to talk to some of these employees, Jorge Prim emphasised that ‘our company has grown from a small family business to a national and international benchmark in healthcare technology. And this company’s success story is closely linked to the city of Móstoles. As a company based in this municipality, we are firmly committed to generating a positive impact on the city and its inhabitants’.

Within the framework of this commitment, and in line with the commitment to innovation and the business culture of the Móstoles City Council, Fernando Oliveros emphasised that ‘it is a source of pride for us to have been able to have a positive impact on the city and its inhabitants’.

We are proud to have been one of the first companies to participate in the MIEB project, promoted by the City Council’. Our business philosophy,’ said Oliveros, ’is to provide the health system with innovative technologies that improve people’s quality of life. We are, therefore, aligned with the idea that Móstoles is a benchmark in everything related to entrepreneurship and challenges such as digitalisation’.

Among the objectives of this collaboration with the MIEB project is to create a collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem, focused on promoting sustainability and innovation in the southern area of Madrid, and to help the growth of start-ups, to which PRIM offers support to materialise their initiatives.

A track record based on innovation

PRIM registered its first patent in 1880. Since then, it has been a pioneer in the introduction of emerging healthcare technologies in the national market, with an approach based on research and development as a differential advantage, either on its own or through strategic partners.

It is currently a benchmark in hospital supplies, as well as in orthopaedics, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, geriatrics and technical aids.

It has 940 employees in Spain and, on an international level, it maintains an export network with a solid coverage that reaches more than 93 countries.
