PRIM and Stratesys implement AI virtual assistant to improve efficiency and security of internal processes

  • The collaboration between the two companies improves efficiency and security in regulatory compliance processes, providing a firm foundation to continue driving innovation within the different business areas of the company.

PRIM, a Spanish company with more than 150 years of history, a benchmark in the hospital, mobility and healthcare sector, with a presence in more than 93 countries, and Stratesys, a benchmark in advanced technological solutions, have completed the implementation of a virtual assistant based on generative artificial intelligence for all the company’s internal collaborators.

This first initiative represents a major step forward in the transformation of the processes of PRIM’s Talent and Organisation and Compliance departments, improving efficiency, security and access to relevant information for employees.

About the solution

The implementation of the GenIA virtual assistant, powered by OpenAI’s latest and most powerful GPT-4o model, enables PRIM employees to quickly access key information through a simple interface integrated with Microsoft Teams. This tool is designed to respond quickly and accurately to queries related to Talent & Organisation and Compliance regulations, streamlining processes and reducing the operational burden on these departments.

About the project

With more than 900 employees spread across more than 50 work locations, this initiative comes from PRIM’s Technology and Information department with the aim of continuing to innovate and optimise processes with the main focus on improving the employee experience.

The implementation of generative AI has involved not only enabling the appropriate technological architecture for future growth, but also ensuring integration with existing systems, guaranteeing that the solution is scalable, efficient and secure for the entire company.

The implementation of this project represents a strategic step towards digitalisation and continuous innovation, with the aim of remaining competitive in a constantly evolving market.

With regard to the Compliance Department, GenIA provides interactive access to raise queries related to company policies, procedures and regulations, with the aim of ensuring legal and ethical compliance in all activities carried out by PRIM personnel.

With regard to the Talent and Organisation Department, employees can consult detailed information on working conditions, flexible remuneration policies, equality, professional development, job security, etc., obtaining answers about their rights and benefits in real time.

One of the main challenges overcome was to ensure the protection of sensitive information. A highly secure and securitised environment, implemented in PRIM’s infrastructure, was designed to prevent any security breaches. This system restricts access to documentation based on each employee’s profile, ensuring both privacy and regulatory compliance. In addition, a security model was established that limits access to information according to specific criteria such as geographic location, work centre, employee level or agreement, ensuring that each user only accesses information relevant to their profile.

Humberto Quero Díaz, CIO of PRIM, commented: ‘With this project, we are starting on the path towards a more agile and secure information management model, which allows us to offer a better service to our internal collaborators and guarantee regulatory compliance’.

Luis Fernández Sanguino, Managing Partner Pharma & Lifescience sector at Stratesys, added: ‘The implementation of GenIA at PRIM is a real-world example of how generative artificial intelligence can deliver real savings and drive operational efficiency by transforming a company’s processes.

The GenIA virtual assistant has proven to be a real driver of innovation at PRIM, delivering:

  1. Reduced time spent on repetitive queries in Compliance and Talent & Organisation.
  2. Improved employee satisfaction, who now have a quick and accessible tool.
  3. Greater security and control over sensitive information, complying with all regulations.

With this collaboration, PRIM reinforces its commitment to technological innovation, while transforming its internal processes to provide a more efficient and secure environment for its employees.
